Close Up. Helps to build a relationship with the artist and audience, close up are important in music video because it helps to show the facial expression and this helps the audience build relationship.  When using a close you cannot see anything else but the persons face which means that the main focus is on the face and they will not be looking elsewhere so they have a better understanding of the video.

Mid -Shot. This shot focuses on a half body or mid-size object. It can be used to show body language and build a relationship with the artist and audience. In this shot you are able to see the persons facial expressions which helps to get in touch with an audiences feelings. In my video a mid shot would be useful because you can see a person’s face clearly it helps the audience understand what impression I am trying to give.

Long Shot The whole body will fill a shot and some background. This can be used to show body language to the audience and I’ll be using this in the green seen what this does is give the audience a batter shot of my hold body

High Angle: Looking down .makes the object appear inferior to the audience give it more effect to the audience. This angle can be seen as effective because it can show the story line or a characters personality. For example if you wanted a certain character to be very intimidating, using a high angle shot would be good as when somebody is higher up they look as if they have got more power.

Questionnaire results

Planning the locations and iconography

1) Explanation of why you have chosen this location? In my music video the location will be set in my bed room to start off the reason why I chosen my bed room is because the audience can interact with the artist when just on the artist so they don’t really have anything else to look at but the artist and it kinder set the mood in the room.
2) How does it reflect or convey a message about your artist? This will reflect to the audience and so what the artist is about like if you listing to the lyres off the song you will get that relationship with the artist and you get the message of the song
3) How does the location reflect the lyrics of your song? The location show how its reflect to the audience and the lyrics of my song. The location it’s in my bed room the song is about when I get lonely and I’m just in my room chill think about good time I’ve had and what I’m miss out right. And this can reflect to the lyrics like for example when I’m sing on the bed and say “Waited on you for so long Too many days since January I’m still sitting here alone “and I’m setting on the bed
4) How do the locations build a relationship with your audience? The location it’s in my bed room the song is about when I get lonely and I’m just in my room chill think about good time I’ve had and what I’m miss out right. And this can reflect to the lyrics like for example when I’m sing on the bed and say “Waited on you for so long Too many days since January I’m still sitting here alone “and I’m setting on the bed that can build a lot because these people out there that feel this and there audience out there who can reflect on it. his will get to the audience like people that been in a relationship and who every feel this pain of being lonely or something you can just chill out to people will here and the way I’m saying it just a way to relax and think about life and I think this can

Target audience

A target audience is important when creating a music video because it is essential to know how to target an audience and how to create a music video that the audience would like to watch and enjoy. Another reason why a target audience is important is because it allows the music directors to successfully plan a music video that would include a detailed mise-en-scene and micro elements.
My target audience is for boys and girls between the ages of 14-21, because they reflect the music genre. Also my song choice is a song that young audiences listen to because it reflects their life style, also if they like to go clubbing sometimes my artist will get played so they know about him very well. I will be wearing clothes that attracts the female audience to get myself a bigger audience.

Sony music entertainment

In the music industry, a record label is a brand associated with the marketing of music and music videos. Artists are often managed and owned by a record label to broaden their audience market their albums and to be promoted and heard on radio, television and other media. The four major labels have sub-labels as well. These are labels that work on their own but are owned by one of the four major labels. As well as this there is independent labels indie. These are record labels that are not owned by one of the four major labels.
Syco Music/Leona Louise Lewis Pop, Contemporary R&B
Sony music latin / Pitbull Up Beat Hip Hop.
RCA Records/ Kelly Brianne Clarkson Improve Mostly pop. She can and has sung many styles of music such as pop rock, rock, alternative, country, jazz, big band, r&b, soul, pretty much anything the girl wants to sing she can pull it off.
Def. JAM recordings / Kanye West he more off a rapper then a singer that what def. jam does help people with the tale and concentrate on rapper Def. jam can help kanye west make a really good rap video because what they do is give money to you so that you can make your music video. Once your video has been created they then take back the money from the money you made in the music video you made.
Just as both R&B and hip-hop music were influenced by earlier genres of music, there are many music genres that have been inspired by and derived from R&B and hip-hop. R&B music has influenced funk, rock an roll, soul and reggae music, whereas electro, break-beat, grime, trip-hop and drum 'n' bass are the derivatives of hip-hop music. Both music genres continue to inspire other music styles.

When was your artist signed to that label?

How long has your artist worked with that label?
He been there since 2009 to 2011 so he been with them for 2 year and I still can see him there in the next 4 to 6 year time.
How does the label benefit the artist?

Drake has worked with several other hip-hop artists such as Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Kanye West, Eminem, and Jay-Z. With the success of his mix tape turned So Far Gone, Drake has been nominated for several awards including Grammys, even being selected to perform at the 2010 Grammy award ceremony. Drake has also won several awards, including two Juno Awards in 2010 for Best New Artist and Rap Recording of the Year. This has benefited a lot because he rap and sing with these artist and if you do what he does then your name with be on the map.
How was the artist singed to the label?.
After weeks of speculation, Drake has chosen to go with the home team and sign with Lil Wayne's Young Money Records, according to a source close to the situation. The deal breaks down as a joint venture between Young Money and Cash Money, with Universal Republic distributing. Drake's management was adamant that he should be viewed as an independent artist, although Universal will distribute the project.

Do you think music videos should be censored?

Censorship is the suppression of speech or other public communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the general body of people as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body. There are people that work against it and work for it what they do is take you music video and judge whether it is eligible for the public to watch they will not allow a song to be put on TV channels if they deem it to be inappropriate. Also companies such as Ofcom allow anyone to report things they feel are offensive or should not be seen by children. Ofcom then censor it or take it off completely.

Artists that have been affected are:
• Rihanna
• Eminem
For example Rihanna they censored her music video wasn’t good video to the kid that are watching TV at night and it the thing she have in the video like smoking, drinking, drugs and sex and the people are watching it will find it really rude because there are kids out there that look up to this artist. Therefore having rude and obscene scenes in the video will be over the top.
Eminem don’t really care about the news say or TV say i does what feel good and he say you can’t tell me what I can do and what I can the saying I rap what I feel and what I’ve been going though since I was a young boy and people just think I’m coming out with this when I’m really not I say what been doing or what’s been happening to me in the pass and my fans can really get where I’m coming form with that and they are goon be people out there that don’t like what I do but I’m goon since do what I’m goon do.
Artist: Eminem
Age: 39
Music: rap hip hop
Eminem was one of the most like people rap in the world because he was real and the fan like that about him if you took that always form him then they won’t be a Eminem he bring the fun to the rap world and people see him as a roll meld and there people out there who want to stop what is doing but if that happened then they will be a big controversy and then the news will get in to it than the hold media and people try make him look bad but what he doing is something that he likes since he was a boy and he took it up and work at it and no look where he is he one off the best raps in the world right now
When he says something that the audience don’t like that will try to make it look as if he saying it to them but the reason for something he does is to get out his feeling and that what make a good rap.
The parent:
Hello I want inform you on the music video Eminem is bring out to the audience I think he a bad roll to the kid out there and I have two kids and I wouldn’t want to hear something like that what he say in his song is very rude talking about what he been thought but we wouldn’t like to here but there people think what he does is fun and good but me I don’t think so and I wouldn’t want my kids watching it they young 8 and 14 but what I don’t know is when they go out they might hear something like that and bring it home and get in to it and that what I don’t want my kids grow up on

Pot of Gold Analaysis.

PEER NOTES.

Point:
Setting and iconography.
House, Front Garden.
Ball.

Evidence:
Set in a house a the begining '0:12' when he is laying on the bed with his son.
Set in the front garden '1:24' to when his son runs out and The Game starts rapping.
Playing with a ball at the begining on the bed with his son.

Explain:
Set in the house too show that he has a relationship with his son, also it shows the audience that you shouldnt judge a book by its cover as he is looking after his son in the ghetto and peoples perspectuves of the ghetto is that its bad and not good to raise children there.
Set in the front garden shows thats it is a safe area for his child too play in.ypo
Playing with the ball on the bed shows his connection between him and his son.

Relate:
This relates to the audience as they might have children of their own and live in the ghetto and will want people to have a different purspective of the ghetto.

As the music video begins it shows a basketball game of friends playing basketball. They are all wearing long shorts and some with vests and some with no tops on at all, this is because they are playing a sport which they are getting hot and sweaty in.

Similar to this, further on in the music video the people in the video are using weights and working out, they made their own gym outside one persons house. Again they are wearing vests and long shorts as this will be comfortable to move in and they dont want to be dressed up in something that is going to make them feel hot.A long shot was used for this so you can see every character and see what is going on.

A clip is shown of the game's son looking out the window watching the men downstairs towards the car. This is showing how his son sees everything that goes on. which is bad because his son should not be seeing it however it shows the relationship between him and his son because his son is always with him where ever he goes. The camera shot that is used here is a high angle camera shot so you are in the position of his son looking down on everybody.

editing music video

(chris brown ft Keri Hilson superhuman)

editing is useful because it allows the audience to create their own idea of a music video, there were three different examples of slow editing. The first example was when Keri Hilson phone drop at 1 min and 16sec this is good for the music video because they give you a idea of the video how he meet her and for then they knew that it was mean it to be the 2nd point is when chris brown save keri hilson at 2.00 mines the reason they have that in the video is because they want make it more then just a music video they want make as if it was a film/music video the 3rd point is when all the audience running over to see what’s happening and it happens at a slow paced, that what you will call slow editing, slow editing means something caused by camerawork, such along tracking shots and fallow the action without cutting this make the audience think outside the box
and the use some camera shot such as fade when he sing the it just fade out slowly fade means when the screen moves to black screen to indicate the end of a scene or to move to a different location without having a black out and they also had a lot of straingt cut when chris brown sing to Keri Hilson then Chris brown next to you ft Justin Bieber in he will start sing what this does moves into another shot in an edit and it does not confuse the audience as if the was sing right at you . and they have alot of editing this vidoe for example they had alot of fade out and what this does is make the audience think about the narrive also they have some long shots what this does is bring that effect to the music video also they had some mid shot that made you think they sing to you and what this does to the audience is make they think that they sing to them it’s a bit like sing acting so acting out the lyrics.

Also in 25sec in the music video there was a uses of fade when Chris brown was sing  then the use of the fade came in… what the fade does is when the screen moves to a black screen to indicate the end of a scene or to move to a different location for example was he stop sing it faded to Keri Hilson then she started to sing what that does is give the audience a understanding what’s going on in the music video or what its bulling up to

(Editing Music video, i'm on one )

(Editing Music video I’m on one DJ Khaled ft Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne)
How did the camera shots and editing styles help the audience to build a relationship with the artist? In this music video it help the audience a lot with the camera shots they have in this video for example they had a lot of straight cut but it’s really good to have a lots shots like that so you can keep the audience think and you don’t want confuse the audience the will get lose: straight cut means when one shots moves into another shots in an edit and does not confuse the audience And they had fade at the end.
And they was some jump cut in which two sequential shots of the same subject are taken from camera positions that vary only slightly and also For this reason, jump cuts are considered a violation of classical continuity editing, which aims to give the appearance of continuous time and space in the story-world by de-emphasizing editing. Jump cuts, in contrast, draw attention to the constructed nature of the film: jump cut drastic camera movement that is noticeable to the eye mostly used to move between the performance and the narrative. and there was some slow paced bit in the vidoe at 2.mins and 32sec with DJ Khaled what this does is make the vidoe that bit better and show off what he doing.and also at the end he rain is going up that all so edit and it gives it that Effect at the end

camera shots music vidoe

(Chris brown next to you ft Justin Bieber)

The camera angles they have in this video /film is really good they had a lot of birds eye view with chris brown at 1min and 55 sec.what this do to the audience is make it look like they looking  at them it give the video that bit of effect as the camera moving up it like they looking right in to it eyes that really get the audience attention.
Also had some high angle make as if you look down at the person who is preforming and that makes the parson who is preforming appear inferior to the audience. As I said before it will give you that effect again like they looking in your eyes and it’s like they sing to you and if you was teenage girl you will lose your mind over them because its Chris brown and Justin bieber
They had a lot of eye level so as if they was sing the song to you and girl will go mad over it
Long shot the real distance between the audience and the screen in a cinema (the figure of a man would appear as six feet tall like Chris brown ). This category includes the FULL SHOT showing the entire human body, with the head near the top of the frame and the feet near the bottom

what is a music video?

The music video genre is rap/hood video

The style of the video is. Tell everyone that they are a boss he young but he still and come from the hood and he still go to his home town Philadelphia they rich but don’t forget where there come form

The purpose of the music videos that they saying that don’t matt were you come from you got no you hood and don’t forget people and it make the audient think about he made it big but he still go to the hood at the call his home Philadelphia goodwins music theory is like when you have a good audient and you have a good relationship with your fan and the Editing on the video is really good they have a lot off editing such as the beat is going on the it goes in to a other shot and they had some fade: what is does is when the screen moves to a black screen to indicate the end of a scene or to move to a different location and some jump cut: a drastic camera movement that is noticeable to the eye, mostly used to move between the performance and the narrative. What this does is keep the audience at the end off the set also they make they audience think what kinder rap they are.
This video is more of native because they have the a point of everything that they talking and perform  its like they telling you a story when he wasn’t as big as he is know what he had to do to get money

in this music video you can see that the artist is trying to buying to the audience and when do that you got your target audience and off them you can make you money and in this music it show a lot more about artist because you can see that his had to work to be where he is it didn’t come easy and even though he wasn’t he was rap he didn’t take advantage of the lifestyle he still remember where he came form so you went back to he’s hometown he didn’t forget the people he left back home that what the audience want see and hear what you see something like the target audience see it as the artist being real to the fans and audience e that listen to his music

In the music its perform and narrative so with this he can build a relationship between the audience with the lyrics and visuals what’s this does is helps the audience to understand and see if they can relate to the lyrics and that how you can get new fans just got to be yourself
